To know who to vote for
is a lovely, beautiful thing.
To know exactly who you’ll ask to lead,
and with no fear of what they may bring.
For I was taught when I was young that
all politicians lie.
How am I supposed to know who to vote for
and then, when asked, to justify?
Because I think I should know my reasons,
the bare minimum is to research each candidate in turn.
Yet, I cannot deny when I went to vote,
I barely googled a word.
And I wondered to myself,
‘How many were like me?’.
Only coming to vote because they knew they should,
but wishing they knew how to properly.
Every politician is a person,
every voter too.
I think maybe we all want what’s “right” for this country,
we just have different views.
If only there was a way
for us to maybe see
that maybe many different ways of thinking,
could perhaps be the key.
